School of Yoga Therapy

The Beaumont School of Yoga Therapy is a Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance, offering three levels of Yoga Teacher Training.

Level 1, 200 hour teacher training graduates receive certification in yoga teaching and become automatically eligible for registration with Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher - RYT 200.

Level 2 300 hour certification in yoga therapy graduates are eligible for registration with Yoga Alliance as a RYT-500, currently the highest certification designation offered by Yoga Alliance.

Level 3 500 hour clinical rotation in yoga therapy graduates are eligible for certification with the International Association of Yoga Therapists as a C-IAYT.

What is yoga therapy?

Yoga therapy is a complementary healing modality that refers to the adaptation and application of yoga techniques and practices to help individuals facing health challenges at any level manage their condition, reduce symptoms, restore balance, increase vitality, and improve attitude. Yoga therapy is a practice that can be offered individually or in a group setting.

What is the goal of yoga therapy?

The goal of yoga therapy is to facilitate a compassionate, personalized practice using adaptive, physical activity and meaningful relaxation techniques that help provide people with a way to easily and affordably manage and sustain their own sense of well-being, strength and stability.

Who is a yoga therapist?

The yoga therapist is able to substantiate advanced study, training and experience in the practice of yoga and can demonstrate proficiency in the yoga philosophies of health and healing, ethics, techniques, methodologies and practical applications as they apply to yoga.

  • a way by which people can balance their own health care and wellness with traditional health care now and in the future
  • support towards the spectrum of Integrative Medicine health care modalities
  • clinical applications within a dynamic and changing health care environment
  • familiarity with potential research opportunities in the allopathic and complementary fields
