Meet our residents

First Year Residents, R1

Dalia Alhusein, DO
Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Dalia was born in Houston, TX but grew up in Bloomfield Hills, MI, where she dreamed  of becoming a doctor since she was a little girl. She attended Wayne State University where she majored in Biological Sciences with Honors and gained a newfound love for downtown Detroit. She then moved to East Lansing where she attended Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school. During medical school, she enjoyed serving as the Diversity Committee Representative for her class government, creating awareness about cultural competency and organizing an annual cultural celebration month. She also created a mentorship program for high school students of underprivileged backgrounds interested in the medical field. Additionally, she was one of the founding members of the American Medical Women’s Association at her medical school and served as treasurer. As a medical student, she loved working with both pediatric and adult populations and developed a passion for primary care and working with underserved populations. During her free time, she enjoys traveling, baking, exploring new restaurants, and listening to Beyonce. A fun fact about Dalia is that she performed at Carnegie Hall as a clarinetist with her high school symphony band.

I am a first generation medical student graduate and share a two year old son who is a shih tzu named Jax with my girlfriend. My hobbies include watching sports and action movies, playing basketball and videogames, and listening to music mainly rap/hip hop, alternative rock, and 90s music.

I am originally from Colorado and have enjoyed exploring all that Michigan has to offer over the last 5 years. I am a lover of all things outdoors, especially camping! I attended the University of Wyoming before completing a Master of Public Health degree at MSU, which led me to MSUCOM for medical school. I met my husband here in Michigan & we are so excited we are adding a family member soon (due in November). I am so thankful for the opportunity to practice medicine at Beaumont Farmington Hills and look forward to meeting future patients and colleagues.

Jacob Johengen, DO

I grew up in Ann Arbor Michigan, until he moved to Appleton, Wisconsin to attend Lawrence University. There I met my future wife, who completed pharmacy school at the University of Michigan while I went to Michigan State College of Osteopathic medicine.

My main hobby outside of medicine is cooking. I spent my time before starting residency trying as many new recipes as possible.

As a Family medicine resident my favorite patients to work with are those with chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension or hyperlipidemia.

Al Nabolsi_Moneer

Moneer Al-Nabolsi, DO
Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine

I was born in Jordan, my parents are Syrian and Lebanese, and we moved to North America as refugees during the gulf war. I am the eldest of five. We worked hard, studied hard, and I am the first of my immediate family to get a college degree let alone a medical degree. We appreciate very much the American dream and the idea that you can accomplish whatever you dream of, granted you pursue your passions. I graduated from U of M Dearborn with a biochemistry degree, worked as a mortgage banker to help the family, and then pursued my medical degree at MSU. In my free time I keep up to date with new technologies (artificial intelligence!), politics, and work on my YouTube channel.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, playing tennis and golf, mountain biking, hunting, hiking and camping.
