We attempt to retain our graduates to continue to serve our community.

About the Residency

The Beaumont Hospital, Trenton Dermatology program was first started in 1991. Our residency program is a four-year categorical ACGME accredited program with the Transitional Year being completed at Beaumont Hospital, Dearborn before beginning the three-year Beaumont Hospital, Trenton Dermatology program. After successful completion of the program, residents will be eligible to sit for the American Board of Dermatology (ABD) board examination.

The Dermatology Residency Program at Beaumont Hospital, Trenton provides a resident physician with a broad-based educational experience required to prepare the trainee for practice as a comprehensive dermatologist through a coordinated, progressive, and balanced experience over 36 months.

Our aim is for all residents to possess the critical analytical, examination, surgical skills, medical and practice management knowledge, and patient care experience necessary to pursue a clinical career. We strive for all graduates to be superb clinicians, with excellent surgical skills, who recognizes a responsibility to their community and society and values their patients and their families.

To accomplish this goal, we offer residents robust clinical and surgical experiences with experienced and dedicated faculty committed to resident education. Residents are given early exposure to surgery in a supportive progressive surgical curriculum and given the opportunity to learn from experienced surgical instructors. By participating in these activities under the supervision of committed faculty, our residents are provided an excellent learning environment, allowing them to exceed the minimum standard of Board certification.
