Hematopathology Fellowship, Royal Oak

Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak's Department of Clinical Pathology offers a one-year ACGME-accredited fellowship in Hematopathology, which emphasizes the morphologic diagnosis of benign and malignant hematologic conditions, involving blood, bone marrow, tissue and body fluids as well as laboratory and management aspects of hematology and coagulation.

There is a strong emphasis on the integration of all aspects of hematopathology including

  • phenotyping 
  • molecular studies
  • cytogenetics

Candidates must be board eligible in clinical and/or anatomic pathology. They must also hold a license or be eligible to practice medicine in the State of Michigan.

Our fellowship is designed to meet all educational requirements expected of ACGME-approved programs and to prepare its graduates for certification by the American Board of Pathology Subspecialty Board in Hematology
