A research project is required. The fellow is expected to present at a national meeting and/or participate in a publication in an appropriate peer-reviewed journal. Funding may be available for research projects on a competitive basis from the Beaumont Research Institute. A wealth of clinical and basic science research opportunities is possible as a result of a varied and high-volume mix of transfusion medicine consultations.
