Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship, Royal Oak
Scope of Service
The sports medicine fellowship program provides a broad exposure to athletic injuries and all related conditions affecting the knee, shoulder and elbow. Included among the most common conditions treated by the faculty are
Shoulder
instability (Arthroscopic and open labral repairs, bone block procedures)
rotator cuff tears
biceps related issues
throwing shoulder conditions
shoulder replacement surgery
Trauma and Fractures of the Proximal Humerus and Shoulder Girdle
Elbow
ulnar collateral ligament and throwing injuries
biceps repair
arthritis
instability
contracture management
Knee
ligamentous injuries (ACL, PCL, PLC, Multi-ligament)
articular Cartilage Lesions
meniscal tears or deficiency (including meniscal transplantations)
arthritis and malalignment
patellofemoral realignment
