All applicants must apply through ERAS. Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited residency in internal medicine and passing all USMLE licensing exams are required.

Only applications submitted through ERAS will be reviewed. Applications submitted through ERAS are reviewed in late June of each academic year. Each application is reviewed holistically on rolling basis. Interviews occur between August and October.

We request 3-4 letters of reference, which include one letter from the Internal Medicine Program Director, and at least one letter from a Pulmonary and Critical Care mentor.

For international medical graduates, Beaumont accepts and sponsors H-1B visas for qualified applicants and also accepts J-1 visas sponsored by the ECFMG. Residents wishing sponsorship under the terms of an H-1B visa must meet all the requirements in sufficient time to have obtained the H-1B visa by the beginning of resident orientation begins. Premium processing of the H-1B visa application is strongly recommended.
