year's Torch Relay Ambassador Kayla
"This year's participants will have an opportunity to walk alongside 10-year-old 2012 Torch Ambassador Kayla of Clarkston," explains Tom McGannon, senior vice president Children's Miracle Network at Beaumont Children's Hospital. "Kayla is a courageous girl with remarkable strength and a great sense of humor. She spent six months as a patient at Beaumont Children's Hospital for bone cancer treatment and was named this year's Children's Miracle Network Champion Child for the state of Michigan."
This year's walk will benefit Beaumont Children's Hospital.
"The Torch Relay for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals grows each year and the event creates a fun, family outing on the riverfront that benefits children treated each year by Children's Miracle Network Hospitals," adds McGannon.
Last year's event in Detroit raised more than $19,500 helping to bring the national Torch Relay total to more than $1 million. Information about registration for the Oct. 13 event is available at torch-relay.com.
