Corewell Health is the new name for Beaumont.

Oncology Rehabilitation at Beaumont

At Beaumont, from the time of diagnosis, the Cancer Survivorship Program brings patients and health care providers together to promote optimized health and healing of mind, body, and spirit through integrative practices and education before, during, and after cancer treatment.

As an integral part of the Survivorship Program, the rehabilitation department offers care to survivors designed by physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language pathologists. Our clinicians have specialty training in cancer wellness, exercise, and rehabilitation care, including clinicians certified in cancer exercise training by the American College of Sport Medicine.

These therapists have a comprehensive understanding of exercise and its direct impact on the recovery and survivorship of cancer patients. In coordination with your physician and nurse navigators, therapists will provide care throughout the continuum of your cancer treatment and survivorship journey.

The oncology rehabilitation vision is to empower patients to maintain their own health and commitment to healing through an individualized exercise and wellness program. The department aims to conduct activities that prevent or minimize the effects of cancer and the side effects of treatments for both adult and pediatric populations. After conventional therapy, patients are supported through sustainable wellness programs supervised by rehab staff.
