Levels of Training

Reiki Therapy Level 1

An Introduction to Reiki Therapy: The Research and the Science

Training hours: 9am - 5pm
Training cost: $200

This first level of training is educational in scope. It introduces participants to the concepts and theory of Reiki Therapy.

This one-day class is designed to meet the needs of professional nurses, massage therapists and other health care providers, to increase their knowledge about Reiki Therapy and its use in healthcare. Others who are interested in learning more about this subject are also welcome to attend.

After this training, participants will experience an increased awareness of their physiological stress reactions; and then they will be able to utilize Reiki for their own stress-reduction and self-care. They will also understand the clinical evidence basis for Reiki Therapy and how it may be incorporated into patient care.

A total of 7 contact hours will be awarded for nurses. Criteria for successful completion include attendance at the entire event and submission of a completed evaluation form. Beaumont Health is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. Upon successful completion of this program, massage therapists will receive 7 continuing education hours through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork. (NCBTMB).

Reiki Therapy Level 2

Learning to Facilitate Healing for Others

Training hours:

  • day 1: 10am - 4pm PLUS 2 additional practice hours at home that evening
  • day 2: 10am - 3pm

Training cost: $250

This class provides instruction for professional nurses, massage therapists, other health care providers and community members to learn how to facilitate Reiki for others, with a focus on the hospital setting. Students who complete Level 2 training may be able to volunteer for the Department of Integrative Medicine, facilitating Reiki Therapy in the hospital setting.

Participants will learn the process of how to facilitate Reiki Therapy for others, as well as experiencing the benefits of having others facilitate Reiki for them. They will have an increased awareness of the pain-relieving potential of Reiki Therapy, and they will practice and learn an effective pain management technique.

A total of 9.5 contact hours will be awarded for Nurses, which includes 1.25 contact hours on Pain and Symptom Management. Beaumont Health is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Ohio Nurses Association an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation. (OBN-001-91) (OH-378, 10/1/2019).

Upon successful completion of this program, massage therapists will receive 9 continuing education hours through the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork. (NCBTMB).


Reiki Therapy Level 3

Advanced Practitioner – Master Level

Training hours:

  • day 1: 10am - 4pm
  • day 2: 10am - 4pm

Training cost: $400

Level 3 training is for those who want to deepen their understanding and knowledge of Reiki Therapy. New advance practice techniques will be introduced.

Participants must complete Beaumont's Level I and Level 2 Reiki Therapy training and meet all pre-requisites to attend the Level 3 training. It is recommended that there be a minimum of 6 months between Reiki Therapy Level 2 and Level 3 training.
