Curriculum

Schedule PGY - 1

  • 2 months general surgery
  • 1 month anesthesia
  • 1 month ICU
  • 1 month Plastic Surgery
  • 1 month Emergency Medicine
  • 6 months ENT

Schedule PGY-2

  • 10 months ENT split between Farmington Hills & Royal Oak
  • 1 month Research
  • 1 month Elective (at an approved Site)

Schedule PGY-3

  • 3 months ENT split between Farmington Hills & Royal Oak
  • 2 months Head & Neck Surgery
  • 2 months Neurotology
  • 3 months Pediatric ENT
  • 1 month Research
  • 1 month Elective (at an approved site)

Schedule PGY-4

  • 8 months ENT split between Farmington Hills & Royal Oak
  • 2 months Head & Neck Surgery
  • 1 month Research
  • 1 month Elective

Schedule PGY-5

  • 11 months ENT split between Farmington Hills & Royal Oak
  • 1 month Elective (at an approved site; must be a clinical rotation)

Additional funding provided annually for:

  • In-service exam
  • AAO-HNS Home Study  Course
  • Board Vitals
  • Presentations 

Resident responsibilities

  • weekly lectures are presented by residents on topics outlined annually based on COCLIA topics from the AAO-HNS
  • monthly anatomy lab lectures and dissections
  • present cases at Beaumont, Farmington Hills Tumor Board and trauma conferences
  • monthly journal club provides opportunities with core faculty and guest lecturers
  • opportunities for independent temporal bone dissection
