Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak offers a twelve-month Pharmacy Administration PGY-2 Residency program for one residency candidate. The program is currently in Candidate status with the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (accreditation survey scheduled for November 2013). The program strives to meet the needs of the resident based on previous PGY-1 residency experience, interests and individual goals of the candidate. The program provides unique, concurrent longitudinal experiences rather than rotations to provide a real-world and thorough managerial training program. An individual training plan is created for each resident. All residents complete a research project and present their study results at the Great Lakes Residency Conference in the spring.
The PGY-2 in Pharmacy Administration at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak prepares candidates for a supervisory or managerial position immediately upon completion of the program, with an eventual position as a director of an academic medical center.
