Nickolas A. Vitale is senior vice president of financial operations for Beaumont Health, a not-for-profit organization formed by Beaumont Health System, Botsford Health Care and Oakwood Healthcare to provide high quality, efficient, accessible services in a caring environment for southeastern Michigan residents and beyond.
Prior to taking on this role, Vitale served as executive vice president and chief financial officer of Beaumont Health System, after serving as the organization’s senior vice president of financial operations. Since 1980, Vitale has held a variety of health care finance administration positions, including vice president and chief financial officer of Bon Secours Cottage Health Services; executive vice president and chief financial officer of the Detroit Medical Center; vice president and chief financial officer of Children's Hospital of Michigan; and controller at the Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan.
Vitale is a board member for the Michigan American Diabetes Association and serves as chair of the National Audit Committee of the American Diabetes Association. He is a former board member of the National American Diabetes Association, former chair of the National Finance Committee of the ADA and former chair of the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at Wayne State University. He has also served on the boards of Wayne Community Living Services, the Birmingham YMCA and the University of Michigan Club of Greater Detroit; as a board member and treasurer of the Boys and Girls Club of Troy; and as a board member, treasurer and vice president of the Ronald McDonald House of Greater Detroit.
He is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and a former fellow in the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
Vitale received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Western Michigan University and his master’s degree in business administration from Wayne State University.
