Breast Surgery
The incidence of breast cancer has continued to increase for American women, and this increase directly effects our families and friends in south-central Michigan. Beaumont's Comprehensive Breast Care Centers were created with the goal of reducing breast cancer's devastating effects upon our community. To accomplish this goal, Beaumont has created a comprehensive breast cancer program that integrates cancer prevention, early detection, rapid diagnosis, leading-edge therapies, and a variety of support, education and community outreach programs.
Beaumont's Comprehensive Breast Care Centers are uniquely equipped to serve women's breast health needs for the communities we serve in Royal Oak and Troy. Our centers unite expert breast cancer specialists in one location to care for patients newly diagnosed with breast cancer. Our multi-disciplinary specialists include:

Our team will evaluate all aspects of your care, creating a customized plan of treatment options designed to offer you the best treatments for your unique medical and personal needs. Beaumont's experience and recognition in the cancer research community provides additional treatment options for patients whose care can be enhanced by participation in cancer clinical trials and research.
Beaumont's Comprehensive Breast Care Center surgeons are board-certified in general surgery, and have undergone extensive multi-disciplinary training, including additional fellowship certification in breast oncology. Beaumont's resources rapidly allow our surgeons to offer all the surgical and reconstructive therapies needed to care for our patients.
Breast Wellness Clinic - Beaumont understands the personal and medical issues that are unique to the breast cancer survivor. To meet these needs, Beaumont's Breast Wellness Clinics provide comprehensive long-term follow-up care for breast cancer survivors. Breast Wellness Clinics offer a breast physician dedicated to followup examinations, coordination of breast imaging and other testing, and consultation with patients for advice regarding new advances in treatment and diagnosis.
High Risk Evaluation Clinic - Cancer research has identified a number of genetic, family history, and medical factors that place women at high risk for developing breast cancer. In order to meet the needs of these high-risk patients, Beaumont's Comprehensive Breast Care offers a High Risk Evaluation Clinic. The clinic is designed to provide rapid response service for women with risk factors and offers a program to oversee:
-
Breast Cancer Clinical Research
-
Community Clinical Oncology Program
Beaumont offers our patients access to groundbreaking research trials and treatments, and our commitment to this important research has qualified us as one of only 63 nationwide centers, designated by the National Cancer Institute as a Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP). Our ongoing research commitment assures our patients the same access to clinical trials, here at home, available in other major cancer centers around the country. Beaumont's CCOP program facilitates patient and physician participation in clinical trials, resulting in faster answers to clinical questions and rapid dissemination of the latest research discoveries back to our communities.
