Diagnostic Radiology Research Support

Medical imaging continues to be an integral part in the advancement of medicine and health care. Investigators often collaborate with Beaumont's diagnostic radiology to explore how the use of state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging techniques and interventional procedures available today can advance our understanding of disease. It enables the next generation of diagnosis and intervention.

Available imaging resources include:

  • General thoracic, abdominal, and musculoskeletal radiology
  • Neurological and interventional radiology
  • Ultrasound
  • Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
  • Computed tomography (CT)
  • Pediatric radiology
  • Comprehensive fully-accredited mammography (digital breast imaging)

Four of Beaumont's seven CT scanners were upgraded to multi-slice CT scanners. Four MRI units continue to operate to meet an ever-increasing demand.

Diagnostic radiology also performs a large number of CT scans, ultrasound, and fluoroscopic-guided interventions, including: biopsies and drainages aimed at diagnosis and management of oncology patients. Some of the latest techniques, including venous ablation and advanced stent replacements, are performed.
