Core Measures of Quality

Core measures are used to track a variety of evidence-based and heavily researched standards of care that have been shown to improve clinical outcomes for patients.

Our core measures of quality measure the quality of heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care improvements. These charts show how Beaumont compares to other hospitals nationally and are used to improve patient care at all three hospitals. The measures are part of a nationwide effort to ensure that hospitals are providing the right or recommended care based on scientific evidence for certain conditions.

These measures provide information about the care you should receive when arriving to the hospital, in the hospital and instructions for care after discharge. Improving these areas of care means you're more likely to have a better outcome.
