A theological degree. Certificate, or other documentation of Biblical/religious studies, depending on the requirements of the denomination or faith group of the applicant. At minimum, there must be evidence of sufficient informal Biblical and/or religious training to provide a base for some theological reflection and practice.

Three years' prior ministry experience for those who wish to become pastoral care specialists, chaplains, or clinical pastoral education instructors and supervisors. Where not required by a chosen profession or potential employer, equivalency in personal and professional education/experiences and spiritual maturity will be considered.

Emotional stability and maturity, allowing the student chaplain to enter into the in-depth process of the learning experience.

Adequate intellectual, emotional/tempera-mental, and spiritual ability to perform pastoral care.

Demonstrated openness and commitment to the learning process as it relates to the field of ministry including identified learning goals.

Successful completion of one unit of Level I CPE (submit copies of final evaluations with
Beaumont CPE Application ). Our Residencies are structured to provide for a minimum of three (3) units of CPE. Our Center does not offer a two-unit residency.
