Beaumont is hosting its annual baby fairs in Grosse Pointe, Royal Oak and Troy. With funds provided by Children's Miracle Network, the Beaumont baby fairs will provide new and expecting parents free information, product demonstrations, activities and tours of the family birthing centers.
The Beaumont baby fairs will be held Saturdays, from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. on the following:
- April 5 at Barnes Early Childhood Center,20090 Morningside Drive, Grosse Pointe Woods;
- April 12 at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, south tower concourse, 3601 West 13 Mile Road;
- April 26 at Beaumont Hospital, Troy, 44201 Dequindre Road. There is no cost to attend.
Attendees can learn about Beaumont's birthing centers, get information on newborn health, postnatal care and parenting concerns.
“This marks our 13th year hosting the baby fairs,” says Deanna Robb, director of Beaumont's Parenting Program. “Every year we look forward to having our experts meet new and expecting parents and share information about the many pre- and postnatal programs Beaumont offers.”
At the fairs, Beaumont experts will offer mini-classes on:
- how to make baby food
- relief of choking in infants and children
- comfort measures in labor
- infant massage
- infant care
Informational, interactive displays include:
- breast feeding equipment
- children's toys and clothes
- libraries and county health departments
