Beaumont Children's Hospital hosts baby fairs for new and expecting parents
Beaumont Children's Hospital is hosting its 12th annual "Beaumont Baby Fair" at its hospitals in Royal Oak and Troy. With funds provided by Children's Miracle Network, the baby fairs will provide new and expecting parents free information, product demonstrations, activities and tours of the family birthing centers.
"Beaumont Baby Fair" will be held Saturdays, 11 a.m.-
2 p.m., April 13 at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, south tower concourse, 3601 West 13 Mile Road and April 20 at Beaumont Hospital, Troy, second floor atrium, 44201 Dequindre Road. Those attending can learn about Beaumont's birthing centers, get information on newborn health, postnatal care and parenting concerns.
"We look forward every year to having our experts meet new and expecting parents and share information about the many pre- and postnatal programs Beaumont offers," says Deanna Robb, director of Beaumont's Parenting Program.
At the fairs, Beaumont experts will offer mini-classes on:
- how to make baby food
- relief of choking in infants and children
- comfort measures in labor
- infant massage
- infant care
Informational, interactive displays include:
- breast feeding equipment
- children's toys and clothes
- libraries and county health departments
