The Beaumont Medical Center in Warren is now offering rehabilitation services for adults. The new physical therapy program focuses on orthopedics and women's health.
"This recent expansion of services at the Beaumont Medical Center in Warren brings Beaumont's specialty rehabilitation services closer to where our patients live and work," says Eric Hunt, vice president of Operations for Beaumont's Ambulatory Services division.
Rehabilitation services now available at the center include physical therapy for back and neck pain; sports injuries; and post-surgical procedures. In addition, therapists are available to treat incontinence and pelvic pain in women.
Physical therapy focuses on the treatment of physical dysfunctions or injuries which result in altered motion. Through evaluation, management and prevention, Beaumont's physical therapists, or PTs, help patients regain and restore normal functions.
Incontinence affects up to 20 million Americans. Pregnancy, childbirth, normal aging and menopause are the greatest contributors to pelvic floor weakness in women. Beaumont Hospital's Rehabilitation Services department offers a special program designed to address specific issues of incontinence.Â

In addition to physical therapy, services offered at the center include general radiology, ultrasound, CT, bone density, mammography and laboratory tests. The medical center is at 8545 Common Road (at 12- 1/2 Mile Road, east of Van Dyke). The 40,000-square-foot facility houses offices of doctors specializing in internal medicine, pediatrics, obstetrics/gynecology and cardiology.
