Beaumont and Henry Ford health systems end merger talks

Beaumont Health System and Henry Ford Health System have ended discussions of a proposed merger to combine their operations into a new health system. Today’s announcement followed six months of due diligence discussions involving hundreds of Beaumont and Henry Ford team members.

Beaumont conducts community health assessment

To better understand and identify community health concerns, Beaumont Health System conducts community health needs assessments every three years. In 2012, an assessment was completed for each of the three hospitals and the communities they serve.

Safety City U.S.A. to host summer camp for kids

Safety City U.S.A., the first nonprofit, injury prevention/safety education center in Michigan, is hosting a summer camp program for children ages 6 to 9 in Royal Oak. Three one-week camp sessions are available. Each session runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. and is $125 per camper.

Beaumont announces retirement of chief medical officer; successor named

Ananias Diokno, M.D., Beaumont Health System’s executive vice president and chief medical officer since September 2006, will step down from his administrative role effective June 1 and retire on Sept. 1. He will be succeeded as CMO on June 1 by David Wood, M.D., current president of Beaumont Physician Partners, the health system’s administrative group for hospital-physician relations.
