While Beaumont Hospitals does not issue birth certificates, you may obtain a copy from the City Clerk's office where you or your baby was born, such as Royal Oak or Troy, from Oakland County Clerk's office or through the State of Michigan Vital Records Department.
Photo identification is required, either a state ID card or a valid driver's license to pick up birth certificates. Only the parent(s) or the child, if they are 18 years of age are allowed to pick up their birth certificate. You are required to provide the proper information to get the birth certificate. Be sure you have the child's full legal name, date of birth and mother's maiden name when requesting certificates. You must also have the proper payment option in U.S. funds.

For mail and walk-in copy requests, the charge is $10 per child and additional copies are $3 each per child. For urgent requests, the charge is $15 per child and additional copies are $3 each per child. Check or Money Orders accepted. Cash accepted only for walk-ins.

Be sure to include a return address where the birth certificates will be mailed. The process time is approximately 7 - 10 business days.
