Beaumont's designation as a Children's Hospital recognizes the specialized services, facilities and expertise developed over many years:
- 36 pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties with 83 subspecialists, including pediatric cardiologists, endocrinologists, urologists, opthalmologists, oncologists, radiologists and orthopedic surgeons
- the 80,000-square-foot William & Marie Carls Children's Center, an entire floor at Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak devoted to inpatient children's services; as well as dedicated pediatric units at the Beaumont hospitals in Grosse Pointe and Troy
- the Ghesquiere Family Center for Children's Surgery, a surgical specialty center designed specifically for children, including the most advanced medical technology and a highly trained children's surgery team, including dedicated pediatric nurse anesthetists and anesthesiologists
- pediatric emergency room at Royal Oak providing care for more than 24,000 children annually and Pediatric After Hours clinics at Royal Oak and Troy
- the Center for Human Development, specializing in diagnosis and treatment of developmental and behavioral disorders
- the largest pediatric speech and language pathology program in the state of Michigan, including the Center for Children's Rehabilitation at the Beaumont Medical Center, West Bloomfield
- birthing centers at all three hospitals and an award-winning Parenting Program
- the only Children's Miracle Network affiliated hospital in southeastern Michigan
