Gene F. Michalski, President and CEO

In June 2010, Gene Michalski became the fifth chief executive in Beaumont’s 55-year history. Prior to his appointment as president and CEO, Michalski had been executive vice president and chief operating officer of Beaumont Health System since 2006.

Michalski received his bachelor of science degree in Biology, master of science degree in Physiology and master's of business administration degree in Finance from Wayne State University.

From 1992 to 1996, Michalski was executive vice president and chief operating officer of St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Ill.

Michalski has held the following positions at Beaumont Hospital, Troy: senior vice president and hospital director, 1997; senior associate hospital director, 1988; associate hospital director, 1983; assistant hospital director, 1980; and administrative assistant, 1978.

His professional activities include past President Elect on the Evanston Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors; past member of the Board of Directors of Evanston Inventure; and he was a member of the Northern Illinois Business Association.

He is the past president of the Board of Directors, Oakland County EMS Medical Control Authority; Michigan Healthcare Executives Group and Associates; and the American Cancer Society, Oakland County Chapter. Michalski is a past member of the Board of Directors of the American Health Association and currently serves as alternate for the AHA Regional Policy Board Region 5. He is also past president of the Midwest Healthcare Executive Group and Associates.

Mr. Michalski is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He is also a member of the following organizations: Michigan Health and Hospital Association Executive Committee and Board of Trustees; Greater Detroit Area Health Council Executive Committee and Board of Trustees; Oakland County of Michigan Medical Main Street Board; Detroit Wayne County Health Authority; and Detroit Regional Chamber Board of Directors.
