Overview of Adult ServicesThe Speech and Language Pathology Department at Beaumont Grosse Pointe and our outpatient division at the Little Mack Clinic in St Clair Shores provide services to adults who experience communicative and swallowing disorders. An experienced, certified staff evaluates and treats adult individuals while they are hospitalized as well as on an outpatient basis. Staff members have master's degrees, have earned the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), have specialized training in their chosen area, and provide a thorough evaluation and an individualized treatment program.
Clinical Programs for Adults:
Specialized Speech and Language Pathologists complete a diagnostic evaluation. Diagnostic impressions and recommendations are discussed with parents during a parent conference. An individualized treatment program is developed for each child and is based upon the child's severity of communication disorder. We offer individual treatment sessions 2 to 3 times a week until the child achieves their treatment goals. Home programs are designed to enhance the child's progress outside the clinic environment providing children with opportunities for success and increased confidence.
Our nationally accredited staff members are clinically certified in Speech and Language Pathology and are specialists in the areas of adult and pediatric speech and language disorders. In addition, our department is a recognized training center for physicians and graduate level students in speech and language pathology.
