PGY-1 Class

Lin_Michael

Michael Lin, MD
University of Illinois College of Medicine

Michael was born and raised in Troy, Michigan. He attended Johns Hopkins University for his undergraduate degree and University of Illinois College of Medicine, Peoria for medical school. Michael’s professional interests include community and emergency medicine. In his spare time, Michael enjoys weight lifting, cooking and playing music.


Mastromonaco_Mark

Mark Mastromonaco, MD
Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine

Mark was born and raised in San Francisco, California. He attended University of California, Irvine where he majored in Public Health while participating in clinical research in both the department of Anesthesia and department of Emergency Medicine. Mark continued his education at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in southeast, Michigan. After graduation, he was able to pursue his love for primary care at Beaumont, Grosse Pointe. He enjoys cooking, going on walks/hikes, playing with his corgi, board games, and soccer. One day, he hopes to open his own medical clinic either here in the Metro Detroit area or back in California.


Nguyen_Denise

Denise Nguyen, DO
Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Denise was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri before moving to Dallas, Texas in high school. She attended Baylor University in Waco, Texas and majored in biology with a minor in French. She then went on to complete a MS in Clinical Research Management at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. She earned her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her professional interests include community medicine, global health and working with underserved communities. In her free time, she enjoys trying new restaurants, baking, traveling and spending time with friends and family (including her pup, Mousse).


Pan_Lawrence

Lawrence Pan, MD
Our Lady of Fatima University College

Larry was raised in San Diego, California. He attended UCSD where he studied Psychology and Neuroscience. He worked in academic research in Cardiology at UCSD where he developed a love for teaching and medicine. He completed medical school in Manila after teaching in the Philippines. His current interests are LGBTQ+ medicine, hospital medicine and health policy. At home, he enjoys cooking, gardening, tinkering on his car and a good cup of coffee.


Smith_Lindsay

Lindsay Smith, MD
American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine

Lindsay grew up in St. Clair Shores, Michigan. She attended Oakland University for undergraduate studies and George Washington University for a Master’s in Public Health with a focus in community programs, planning and implementation. She graduated from American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. Her professional interests include women’s health, community health, and preventing health disparities. In her spare time, she enjoys being outdoors, practicing yoga, attending concerts and indoor rock climbing.


Theriault_Martin

Martin Theriault, MD
University of Medicine and Health Sciences

Martin was born and raised in Embrun, Ontario, a small French community east of Ottawa, Ontario. He pursued his undergraduate degree in biotechnology, all while completing a research project at the National Research Council (NRC). Afterwards, he earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences. His professional interests include lifestyle and preventative medicine, nutrition, and sports medicine.


PGY-2 Class

David Adams

David Adams, MD
American University of Caribbean School of Medicine

David was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended the University of Utah for his undergraduate degree in health education with an emphasis in emergency medical services and Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine for his master’s degree. He attended AUC School of Medicine for his MD. Prior to residency, David spent several years as a firefighter/paramedic, ski patroller and helicopter flight medic. He has extensive teaching experience in pre-hospital medicine at the university level. His professional interests include full-spectrum family medicine, critical care/emergency medicine and underserved rural medicine. He also has interests in the business of medicine as well as public health and is pursuing formal education in these areas. Outside of residency, you will find David spending time with his wife and children, skiing, climbing and reading.


Raymond Ackerman

Raymond Ackerman, DO
Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Ray was born in Chicago, Illinois, but spent most of his formative years in Metro Detroit. He attended Grand Valley State University for his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Sciences, and graduated from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine with his medical degree. Ray’s professional interests include community medicine, osteopathic care, disease prevention and public health. In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors by camping and hiking, as well as working with his hands to paint or craft home projects.


Ursula Barghouth

Ursula Barghouth, DO
A.T. Still University of Osteopathic Medicine

Ursula was born and raised in Santa Clara, CA. She attended the University of California in Los Angeles for her undergraduate degree and graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans with a Master’s of Science in Public Health focusing on Tropical Medicine and Parasitology. She graduated from A.T. Still University School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona for her dual DO/MHA degree. Prior to residency, she completed a Trauma Research Fellowship through Henry Ford and a Health Policy Fellowship through the American Osteopathic Association. Her professional interests include health policy, community medicine, and working with underserved populations. She also has an interest in public health and clinical research. In her spare time, Ursula enjoys spending time with family and friends, hiking and traveling.


Devan Dykstra

Devan Dykstra, MD
Wayne State University School of Medicine

Devan was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan where he received his Biomedical Science degree from Grand Valley State. He then moved to Detroit to attend Wayne State University School of Medicine. He enjoys camping, cycling, soccer, and reading.


Christopher Keller

Christopher Keller, MD
Michigan State University College of Human Medicine

Christopher was born in Southern California and raised in West Michigan. He attended Kalamazoo College for his undergraduate degree and graduated from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine with his medical degree. His professional interests include community medicine, sports medicine, adolescent medicine, public health and global health. In his spare time, Christopher enjoys traveling, hiking, running, yoga and watching sports.


Dylan Rogers

Dylan Rogers, DO
Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific

Dylan was born in Las Vegas, Nevada and attended the Oregon Institute of Technology on a baseball scholarship for undergraduate, studying Biology/Health Sciences, Chemistry, and Medical Sociology. He stayed in Oregon for his medical education, graduating from Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific-Northwest. At Western U COMP-Northwest, he developed a passion for primary care, lifestyle medicine, and musculoskeletal medicine. His dream is to combine his passion for these fields by pursuing a Sports Medicine Fellowship. In his spare time, he enjoys leading an active lifestyle in the great outdoors through hiking, camping, and trail running, in addition to playing competitive sports such as basketball, baseball/softball, ultimate frisbee, and football.

Eliisa Bojanic

Eliisa Bojanic, MD
Our Lady of Fatima University College

Eliisa was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University, where she first developed an interest in global health and health policy. She completed medical school in Manila after spending several months working on various public health projects in the Philippines. Current interests/focus areas include obstetrical health/violence paradigms, underserved communities, health policy, and global health. She enjoys anything involving the outdoors, house-plant nurturing, good coffee, and vulnerable conversations.


Elaine Hsia

Elaine Hsia, DO
Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine

Elaine grew up in sunny Southern California. She completed her undergraduate degree in Physiological Science at the University of California Los Angeles and went on to complete an MS in Physiological Science where she worked on prostate cancer research. During her time in Los Angeles, she volunteered at health fairs and taught nutrition in elementary school classes. These opportunities helped her develop a great appreciation for how socioeconomic factors affect health and a desire to impact both health on the community and individual level. Afterwards, she earned her medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Her professional interests include integrative medicine, nutrition, and community medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her significant other, cooking, trying new restaurants, and tending to her tiny herb garden on her apartment balcony.


Laraib Mehdi

Laraib Mehdi, MD
Saba University School of Medicine

Laraib grew up in Windsor, Ontario, across the border from Detroit. She did her undergraduate degree at University of Windsor with research focusing on evolutionary changes in Rainbow Trout. She graduated from Saba University School of Medicine. Her professional interests include obstetrics/women’s health, integrative medicine and community medicine. In her spare time, Laraib enjoys local art, spending time with family and traveling.


Christine Sheeler

Christine Sheeler, MD
University of Medicine and Health Sciences

Christine was born and raised in Strathroy, Ontario, a small Canadian farm town. She attended the University of Western Ontario for her undergraduate degree where she studied Medical Sciences. She graduated from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences with her medical degree. Her professional interests include obstetrics, adolescent medicine and community medicine. Her current research focuses on sexuality education for youth. In her spare time, Christine enjoys baking, hiking, football and reading every work of non-fiction that she can get her hands on.


Linda Stanek

Linda Stanek, MD
American University of Caribbean School of Medicine

Linda was born and raised in Grosse Pointe, Michigan, where she was a three-time State Champion on her high school ice hockey team. She completed her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology through the Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University. She received her medical degree from American University of the Caribbean and completed her medical school training in New York City. Linda is pursuing a career in Sports Medicine and is applying to Sports Medicine Fellowships this year. She is passionate about patient advocacy and proud to have represented Michigan as a delegate for the last two years at the National AAFP Conference. She enjoys spending her spare time with her family and friends, gardening, travelling, and running.
