Through our diabetes classes, it is our hope that you will learn about diabetes and how it is treated, the benefits of exercise, meal-planning, complications and how to prevent them and many other important topics.
If you have difficulty losing weight, and your blood pressure, blood cholesterol and blood sugar have been going up, you may have insulin resistance. Insulin resistance increases your chance of developing cardiovascular disease, stroke and/or Type II diabetes. This is a three-part series addressing nutrition and exercise. The class is taught by a registered dietitian and exercise specialist.
This one-session class is designed to help people who are at risk for developing type 2 diabetes identify their risk factors and make lifestyle changes to delay or prevent the disease. The session will be followed by a consultation with a dietitian.
This program is designed to help people with diabetes effectively manage the disease. Classes are open to people with diabetes, friends and caregivers. Physician referral is required.
The focus of the program is to teach pregnant women how to control their diabetes and look forward to a healthy pregnancy and baby. The fee is covered by many insurance plans.
