2010 Community Benefit Report

Building a Healthier Tomorrow

In 2010, Beaumont Health System provided more than $173 million in community benefit.

Beaumont Health System works collaboratively with local organizations and community leaders to develop and implement cost-effective programs and services to prevent illness and maintain health and wellness. We provide health care programs in local schools, senior citizen centers, churches and many other venues and we partner with community organizations to address the health care needs of the populations we serve.

Another important way Beaumont serves the community is educating the next generation of health care providers. This role is more important than ever as our new Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine began classes in August. These future physicians will become an important part of the system of care throughout Michigan and the nation.

Beaumont embraces the responsibility of improving the lives in our community, and we work diligently to make our community a better place. That is why our physicians, nurses and staff “reach beyond our doors” every day to provide education, programs and sponsorships to promote community health.
