Current Programs & Tuition

Beaumont Hospital's Clinical Pastoral Education Program and Center are fully accredited with commendation by the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education, Inc. All students completing work in the Beaumont's program will be professionally registered or certified by the ACPE.

Current Programs

For all programs, seventy-five percent of time is spent in ministry to patients, families, and staff; twenty-five percent is spent in seminars, didactics, and individual and group supervision.

CPE Residency Program

Rotating twelve-month stipended residency beginning March 1, June 1, September 1, and December 1.
Fifty hours per week, including evenings and weekends as assigned, fourteen overnight on-calls per unit, and five of the six holidays (New Year's, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas) on-call responsibility.
Application deadline: Six months prior to anticipated start date.

CPE Extended Units

January Extended (20 weeks): Thursday evening didactics with Monday day orientation the second week)

• January 21 - June 4, 2010
• January 20 - June 3, 2011
• January 19 - June 1, 2012

Twenty-two hours per week, including fourteen overnight on-calls and one holiday (Memorial Day) on-call responsibility during the unit. Application deadline: three months prior to anticipated start date.

September Extended (30 weeks): Monday day didactics

• September 13, 2010 - April 8, 2011
• September 12, 2011 - April 6, 2012
• September 10, 2012 - April 5, 2013

October Extended (30 weeks): Tuesday evening didactics with Monday day orientation the second week

• October 9, 2012 - May 3, 2013

CPE Intensive Unit

CPE Summer Unit (10 weeks): Monday through Friday didactics with weekend and evening overage

• June 7 - August 13, 2010
• June 6 - August 12, 2011
• June 11 - August 17, 2012
• June 10 - August 16, 2013

Fifty hours per week, including up to fourteen overnight on-calls and one holiday (Independence Day) on-call responsibility during the unit. Application deadline: four months prior to anticipated start date. Available positions fill quickly. Early submission of application recommended.

Program Fees

• $35 non-refundable application fee.
• $75 deposit (credited toward tuition) when accepted into the program.
• $1,000 for first Beaumont unit (incoming students).
• $500 for consecutive units.

• Non-refundable fee of $35 (payable to Beaumont CPE Center) must accompany the application.
