Multi-slice computed tomography (MSCT) has seen rapid advances in imaging technology that greatly facilitate accurate noninvasive coronary artery imaging. Research studies involving coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) are being conducted as investigator initiated single center trials as well as Beaumont managed state and national multi-center trials. These research studies focus on topics such as the safety and diagnostic efficacy of the procedure, cost effectiveness, radiation dose reduction techniques and appropriate use guidelines.
