Beaumont Among U.S. News & World Report's 'Best Hospitals'
Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak is once again named among the nation's "Best Hospitals" in the annual rankings by U.S. News &
World Report.
Beaumont, Royal Oak is ranked in four medical specialties in the 2011-12 "Best Hospitals" lists announced by U.S. News today. The rankings are available online and will appear in the U.S. News Best Hospitals guidebook which will go on sale Aug. 30.
Beaumont's national medical specialty rankings are:
- Cardiology & Heart Surgery, 32nd
- Geriatrics, 26th
- Orthopedics, 33rd
- Urology, 44th

The Clinical Sciences Institute of OptumHealth recently named Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak as a Center for Excellence for adult kidney transplant.

Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak was one of six Michigan hospitals to participate in one of the largest stroke-prevention trials in North America. The NIH study compared the results of treating blockages in the carotid arteries with surgery or stenting.
