The Diokno-Lapides Essay Contest (formerly the Jack Lapides Essay Contest) has been expanded this year to include submissions covering the entire field of voiding dysfunction. Essays will be judged by an independent panel. The winner will be honored among peers at the AUA National Meeting in May and be awarded $5,000.
Who can apply? The contest is open to all urologists, residents and fellows throughout the world, in both the private and academic setting. If the primary author is not a urology trainee or urologist, the essay must be co-authored by a urologist and sponsored by the Department or Section of Urology.
Deadline for submission is November 15, 2014.
The essay can be the work of an individual or a group. If the essay is submitted by a group, the first author will be considered the primary author and receive all correspondence. If the winner is a group, the primary author will be expected to present the paper and officially receive the award.
