Beaumont Nurses at all levels participate in research activities. We strive to utilize the best available evidence, including research findings, to guide our practice decisions.
Through the use of the Melynk model of Evidence Based Practice, we take an approach to care that includes the best evidence, clinical expertise, and patient preference into our clinical decision making process. Beaumont Nurses also identify research questions, participate in data collection, analyze and interpret research, share research findings with others and incorporate research as a basis for learning.
A number of Beaumont Nurses are Principle Investigators for nursing research studies. In addition, Beaumont Nurses serve as partners with nurse researchers from local Schools of Nursing to provide a clinical setting to conduct research. Our nursing research committees function as the structure to organize our research efforts.
