Nicole received her master's degree in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) from the Midwest college of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture in Chicago in 2001. She studied Chinese obstetrics and gynecology and infertility issues for 2 years in London, England with a Chinese herbalist, Dr. Liu Zhang. Moving back to Chicago, Nicole then worked at the Advocate Illinois Masonic Integrative Medicine Center for six years. It was one of the first hospitals in Chicago to offer integrative medicine. She also helped start the acupuncture division of Pulling Down the Moon, a holistic fertility center in the heart of Chicago. Nicole continues to treat women's issues such as infertility, pelvic pain, menstrual disorders, PMS and hot flashes, as well as oncology and chronic pain patients. She loves to practice yoga, is a certified yoga instructor and uses yoga therapy with her pain patients.
Since spring of 2008, Colleen has been part of the Integrative Medicine program at Beaumont, practicing acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at the Troy campus. Colleen completed her bachelor of arts at the University of Michigan and went on to earn a master's in Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in Portland. Since returning to Michigan, she has practiced in the Birmingham and Troy area. Since 2005, she's been a board member of the Michigan Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Colleen has a particular interest in treating hormonal imbalances, chronic pain and immune system dysfunctions, such as allergies and autoimmune disorders. Colleen listens carefully to her patients and strives to put them on a path toward profound healing, and sees acupuncture as a tool to optimize the body's own natural healing abilities.
Mark is a Licensed Acupuncturist and Massage Therapist and is Nationally Board certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. He is a Nationally Board Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist (CMTPT), and a Certified Thai Bodywork Instructor. He holds a Masters Degree from Boston University, and a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.
In addition to his academic acupuncture training, Mark completed a three-year clinical internship where he successfully treated patients for sports injuries, chronic pain, headache, migraine, gastrointestinal disorders, PMS, infertility and emotional disorders.
Mark integrates his knowledge of acupuncture, Herbal Medicine, Massage Therapy and Trigger Point Therapy to effectively address the specific needs of his patients and to deal with a wide variety of disorders. He has a special interest in pain elimination, gastrointestinal issues, musculoskeletal disorders, sports medicine, gynecology, and men's and women's health.
Jeffrey completed his training in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine at the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine located in Denver, Co, and his undergraduate education at Wayne State University in Detroit, Mi. Jeffrey is nationally board certified in acupuncture and is a member of the Michigan Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and the American Association of Oriental Medicine. He has been practicing in the Metro Detroit area since 1999. Jeffrey uses acupuncture and it's related therapies to create balance in the body thus releasing ones own full healing potential. Jeffrey has experience in treating a wide range of conditions including allergies, headaches, reproductive system issues in both men and women, acute and chronic pain, and general health and well-being.
Carey received her Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, IL. She is nationally board certified in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, and is a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine. She is a member of the Michigan Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and the American Association of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Carey has practiced in the field of complimentary medicine in Ann Arbor since 2000, and in the spring of 2010 she joined the Integrative Medicine team at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak.
Acupuncture has been demonstrated to restore balance and function to the endocrine system, immune system and nervous system and can therefore be helpful in treating a wide range of conditions. Carey enjoys practicing acupuncture to help patients realize improved states of well being. She has particular interest in using acupuncture to resolve pain, gynecological and fertility issues as well as to provide support to oncology patients.
Emily is Nationally Board Certified in both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. She completed all premedical coursework at Wayne State University in Michigan and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree. Emily has several years of experience in the medical field, including working with a pain management physician. She also worked at a physical therapy institute assisting in the physical rehabilitation of patients recovering from illness or injury.These experiences enabled her to acquire a greater understanding of the debilitating nature of pain that people endure.
Emily’s education and experience inspired her to pursue a Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She graduated from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago. There she received recognition for a scholarship based on her deep passion and pursuit to the study of Chinese Medicine.
Along with extensive educational studies, Emily completed a three year clinical internship treating many common conditions such as allergies, digestive disorders and pain conditions. She also worked at Chicago Women’s Health Center, a collective created in 1978 that provides affordable and accessible health care. Emily effectively treats a wide variety of ailments including endometriosis, menstrual syndrome and psycho-emotional conditions. Additionally, Emily has a particular interest in providing holistic care of infertility and supportive care for oncology patients.
Mike is nationally board certified in both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. He graduated with a Masters degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, a highly respected and nationally accredited institution in Chicago. Mike is also a Registered Nurse and has been practicing since 2007 which has provided him with experience in patient care in a hospital setting.
Mike has experience in treating patients for a wide variety of conditions including pain management, musculoskeletal disorders, headaches, allergies, gastrointestinal disorders, infertility, and psycho-emotional conditions. Mike has an interest in providing support to oncology patients. On a personal note, Mike is highly conversant in Spanish language.
Stephanie received her Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from the Midwest College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago, IL. She is nationally board certified in acupuncture and is a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine. Stephanie has been a practicing nurse for 19+ years, receiving her BSN from the University of Michigan.
Currently Stephanie focuses her treatments on women's issues, however she can treat a wide variety of conditions. She is located in the Women's Urology Clinic, at the Beaumont Royal Oak Campus (on the second floor, near the south entrance of the hospital), and our newest location in Grosse Pointe, at the Beaumont Vein Center.
