Chronic Disease Management Clinic

Beaumont's Chronic Disease Management Clinic provides patients, with suspected or known liver and kidney disease, a multidisciplinary approach to a comprehensive evaluation and treatment plan for their disease, including minimally invasive surgical options.

This clinic has pulled together specialists from three key areas, all under one roof, who begin to evaluate you before you even set foot in the office. The team is comprised of hepatologists (liver doctors), nephrologists (kidney doctors) and surgeons, as well as a nurse navigator and medical assistants. The clinic surrounds you with all of the specialists you may need to evaluate and treat your condition.

No need for you scramble around running from doctor to doctor for evaluations - Beaumont's Chronic Disease Management Clinic brings the experts together in one place - the result to you is a streamlined, expedited evaluation and treatment plan with treatment often starting immediately at your first visit.

All of the members of this clinic are specially trained in treating chronic diseases of the liver and kidneys. The clinic is led by world-renown transplant specialist, Alan J. Koffron, M.D.

Kidney and Hypertension Center

Beaumont's Kidney and Hypertension Center focuses on the diagnosis and therapy of people with chronic kidney disease, including decreased kidney function, protein and/or blood in the urine and abnormalities in electrolytes in the blood stream, such as potassium, magnesium, and calcium.

The center focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of difficult to control high blood pressure, which is a significant risk factor for heart attacks, strokes and chronic kidney disease. Our Director, Dr. Kellerman, is a clinical specialist in hypertension as designated by the American Society of Hypertension.

Physicians at the center are board-certified in nephrology and have full faculty appointments at the Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine and actively teach medical students and internal medicine residents.
