Colorectal Cancer

According to the American Cancer Society, the number of colorectal cancer cases in 2015 are 93,090 new cases of colon cancer and 39,610 new cases of rectal cancer. While that number has decreased mostly due to early screening techniques like colonoscopy at age 50, 49,700 deaths are projected in 2015.

Oncology Services at Beaumont are dedicated to offering counseling, diagnosis and exceptional care to patients with colorectal cancer and their families. Survival rates for colorectal cancer patients treated at Beaumont Hospitals are higher than the national average. Also, Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, has been named a Blue Distinction Center for rectal cancer as part of a national program sponsored by the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association.
