The Blood Bank and Transfusion Service maintains electronic records of patient results. The Blood Bank and Transfusion Service are inspected and accredited by the FDA as a registered blood bank and accredited by the American Association of Blood Banks, College of American Pathologists and Joint Commission Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
The Blood Bank provides blood and blood components for transfusions, prenatal serologic testing, therapeutic apheresis, therapeutic phlebotomy, autologous donation and consultations.

Additional Services
Outpatient transfusions are provided on a scheduled basis in the Short Stay area. Scheduling is arranged through the Beaumont Appointment Center at 248-432-3100.
Examples of Commonly Ordered Tests - Histocompatibility
This fully-certified lab performs routine serological testing, antibody screening, flow cytometric crossmatching and molecular typing. In addition, the lab provides typing for renal transplantation services and for initiation of bone marrow donor searches for oncology patients.
