Beaumont has always supported access to health insurance coverage for all Americans. As the Affordable Care Act goes into place, we look forward to serving patients who have not previously had coverage to receive the health care they need.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act will make primary, preventive care more accessible and affordable. The law also aims to increase quality and coordination of care, to lower the number of people without insurance by expanding public and private insurance coverage, and to reduce the cost of health care.
The law provides a number of mechanisms to increase coverage and affordability, including the Health Insurance Exchange. The Exchange will serve as an online marketplace where individuals and small businesses can compare policies and buy insurance and, if eligible, obtain government subsidies. The online Marketplace opens on October 1, 2013.
The Health Insurance Marketplace is a new way to find health insurance coverage. It can help you find insurance coverage if you don't have it now or allow you to seek other insurance coverage options. The Marketplace allows you to apply for health coverage, compare all your options, and enroll in a plan through one streamlined application. Beginning October 1, 2013, you can create an account, apply, select a plan and enroll. To get started, visit www.healthcare.gov.
When looking for a plan on the Health Insurance Marketplace, be sure to select one that Beaumont accepts. View the list of insurances.
